The American animated comedy television series SpongeBob SquarePants has been one of the most popular children’s cartoons for more than two decades and the influence of the childish, joyful, dim-witted, and clumsy absorbent yellow sea sponge has made its way from TV into comics, films, video games, and beyond. Well, I love watching SpongeBob SquarePants. I know you do too.

Back to who killed Mr. Krabs, the document we have our hands-on, titled The Trial of SpongeBob SquarePants, tells how The owner of Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs brutally died and details evidence that links his death to a number of suspects.

Attention has turned to the subject again after Twitter users encouraged others to look up Mr. Krabs’ mysterious death on the internet. How did Mr. Krabs get murdered? Everyone knows that MrKrabs‘ first second and third love is money, money, money. But sometimes ole Eugene can get a little…greedy. Did his greed get him Killed?

Who is Mr. Krabs?

Eugene Harold Krabs is a fictional character in Nickelodeon’s hit show SpongeBob SquarePants.

Mr. Krabs is the owner of the world-famous restaurant the Krusty Krab, most famous for their delectable-looking Krabby Pattie burgers,

The crab is known for starring as the money-driven manager of the burger joint where the protagonist SpongeBob works as a burger flipper. He is also the father to a whale called Pearl who he loves dearly.

THE TRIAL OF SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS

The Trial of SpongeBob SquarePants seems to be an activity that can be set as a class challenge at school as described by Hitc. I won’t be surprised if it’s a case study for Law school students either.

The document has since been revised by many but the main document (The Trial of SpongeBob SquarePants) making rounds on the internet and social media is a two-page PDF that details Mr. Krabs’ death and a list of evidence and witnesses’ testimonies surrounding the case. Truth be said, on its own, the document seems to be quite mysterious and a little disturbing.

Another version of the same document exists, the second being an 11-page PDF that includes worksheets and instructions that specifically mention splitting a class into teams to work as the defense or prosecution.

As said earlier, this document could be a case study for Law students to either establish a case or find a defense for the murder of the Money Loving ower of Krusty Krab. In this version of the document, the aim of the activity seems to be to get students to examine the evidence on show, ignoring what they already know about the SpongeBob series, to determine who really killed Mr. Krabs.

Details of How Mr. Krabs Got murdered

According to the Original Trial of SpongeBob SquarePants document, Mr. Krabs is found dead inside his Krusty Krab restaurant and his throat has been cut. How did he die? He probably died out of losing too much blood.

The medical examiner who investigated the death of Mr. Krabs concluded that the wound around his neck was caused by a metal spatula and a similar spatula was found next to Mr. Krabs’ body and was covered in his blood. In short, Mr. Krabs was Murdered with a Metal Spatula in his own Restaurant, Krusty Krab.

Mr. Krabs also had signs of blunt-force trauma on the back of his head. On top of that, the floor of the Krusty Krab was slippery as it was covered in cooking grease.

On the crime scene, several footprints were found in the grease including SpongeBob’s but his footprints were not in the pool of Mr. Krabs’ blood.

There was no sign of a break-in at the restaurant but the Krusty Krab’s cash register was empty and Mr. Krabs’ safe was found open with the secret recipe for the Krabby Patty missing. Who is after Mr. Krabs’ secret recipe for the Krabby Patty?

Mr. Krabs also had a small cut on his claw that had begun to heal which had been determined to have happened several weeks earlier.

Who Killed Mr. Krabs? What is the Motive behind the Murder?

In the Trial of SpongeBob SquarePants document activity, the person who killed Mr. Krabs is left up to whoever is taking part in the challenge to do their own investigation and draw a conclusion.

A look at the Crime scene and the evidence ourselves, one can see that there are a number of possibilities about how Mr. Krabs died. The case could be an accident or murder. If its a murder, who killed Mr. Krabs and what is the motive?

Accidental death or Murder?

Mr. Krabs might possibly killed himself through an accident. The slippery floor could have caused him to fall and cut his throat by accident, although this doesn’t explain the empty safe and cash register. It can also be argued he was possible chasing the thief who want to steal the secret recipe and the Love of his love; Money. And he ended up meeting that fate.

This is where the blame shifts towards Plankton, Mr Krabs’ long-time rival, as not long after Mr Krabs’ death, he began selling burgers with a very similar recipe to the legendary Krabby Patty.

To make matters worse and where spongBob is also on trials, two days after Plankton began selling the burgers, he went to the bank and paid off the remainder of SpongeBob’s house loan. Weird Huh?

Also, Sponge Bob is the only person after Mr. Krabs who has the key to the safe. And his footsteps are also on the crime scene where he works.

According to the Trial of SpongeBob SquarePants document, SpongeBob has never been given a raise in all his years working at the Krusty Krab which made him disgruntled. We all known how Mr. Krabs feels about his money.

This leads losts of people to draw the possible theory that SpongeBob and Plankton worked together to steal the Krabby Patty recipe and also some cash, while Mr Krabs’ death could potentially have been an accident on the slippery floor all along.

Along with this, Patrick also visited Krusty Krab restaurant four hours before the death of Mr. Krab and he stated that the restaurant was locked and he knocked on the door. After he knocked on the door, the door was opened by Mr. Krabs and he was looking quite upset.

According to SpongBob’s best friend Patrick, Mr. Krab told him that the restaurant, Krusty Krab was close and that he would never be able to sell another Crab patty again.

It is up to the prosecution and defense teams to plead that SpongeBob is innocent or guilty since his footprints were found on the crime scene.

Since the document concerning Mr. Krab’s death hit the internet around 2021, SpongeBob fans have continued to share their disbelief of the case via Twitter, One person tweeted: “WT* DO YOU MEAN PATRICK KILLED MR. KRABS??!?” Another fan asked: “WHAT MR. KRABS IS DEAD???”
