Shannon Bex Career
At the age of six, Shannon began dancing and training in ballet. She did well and within no time, she danced for the Oregon Ballet Theatre in The Nutcracker under James Canfield. When she got to the age of twelve, she began training in other styles of dancing: lyrical, modern, hip hop and jazz.
At 19, Bex learned more about performing with a group when she was a Portland Trail Blazers cheerleader. She got her first paid musical engagement when she was 22 with a cover band.
She was with the Portland Trail Blazers for five seasons as a dancer and singer. In the series Fame (2003), Shannon was a participant and she finished the competition in the runner-up position to Harlem Lee.
On April 16, 2009, Bex got released from her Bad Boy recording contract by the record’s founder and president Sean “Diddy” Combs. After this, she said that she wanted to pursue a solo music career.
She soon formed her band by the name Bex, and it consisted of several of the members of Elliot, a group for pop-rock music. With her group, she honored choreographers and dancers at the ” Dance Track ” Magazine 2011 Artist Awards gala for their work with major artists as well as with major films and small screen art.
The group, however, was disbanded before it could release any song. She released her first solo song, I’m Out, on iTunes on May 14, 2012.
