Contouring has no limits. You can contour your cheekbones, neck and cleavage. And in a new video, Kylie Jenner admits that she likes to apply the technique to her ears. (Yep, you read that right.)
In a post on thekyliejenner.com, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 18, and celebrity makeup artist Hrush Achemyan give a basic how-to for a look they call “the Smokey Rock Star,” which illustrates how to get that perfect, messy smoked-out eye with a rocker edge.
But, as Achemyan is almost done contouring her face, Jenner says, “Oh yeah, I like when you do my ears.”
And, although it may seem crazy, there’s a good reason behind it. “It’s really not cute when you’re on the red carpet, or you get snapped, and your face is one color, and the ears are different,” Achemyan explains. “It shows the tone is not really your skin tone and you have on a lot of foundation. Just like your neck, your ears are a part of your face.”
Achemyan then lightly follows the lines she began on Jenner’s cheekbones up to the tops of her ears using the same bronzer, and blends. Finally, she sets the entire look with translucent powder before moving onto the Lip Kit creator’s eyes.
