The tragic story of deceased Campania owner and chef Joe Cerniglia has taken on a new twist. It turns out that the married father of three sons had a 27-year-old “soulmate” named Jessica Marotta.
Cerniglia, 39, jumped to his death from the George Washington Bridge last Friday and his pastry chef wrote an interesting message to him on Facebook.
Marotta penned: “I always told you I would hold your hand forever. Now I will hold you in my heart forever. Your love is a gift and I will always be grateful for sharing the life we had together. I know you will always be near me in spirit to guide me. Our souls will meet again soon. I miss you so much baby.”
According to a New York Post report, the couple had been carrying on a romance prior to his death. It has also been reported that Cerniglia was charged in July with a narcotics violation after someone from Campania called 911 to report that the owner had snorted cocaine at the restaurant and was in distress.
Cerniglia is survived by his wife Melissa Cerniglia and their three sons.
